Appearance
Broad-shouldered and compact, his movements are precise and economical like a well-timed hammer stroke. Skin roughened by heat and soot, his beard is braided into three tight plaits wrapped in thin copper wire. His face carries a permanent vertical scar across the bridge of the nose from a furnace flare. He keeps one eyebrow raised slightly as if perpetually measuring something. When he laughs his left cheek dimple flashes, an unexpectedly gentle contrast to his otherwise weathered face. He smells faintly of coal and lemon wood oil.
