Bard (College of Eloquence flavor)
Tobbyn 'Silverpalm' Merriweather
Species
Halfling (Lightfoot)
Appearance
Tobbyn is the sort of halfling who seems to have stepped out of a storybook and into a pickpocket's ring: he moves with the lithe confidence of someone used to staying out of sight but never out of attention. His walk is a practiced lope, shoulders relaxed, hands often tucked inside his vest where a false coin or folded promise waits. His smile is quick, revealing slightly crooked teeth stained faintly from the cheap red wine he favors; he wears two small gold teeth caps on his front incisors, a deliberate flourish. He favors a short, slightly upturned mustache and a thin scar arcs like a comma across his left eyebrow — a souvenir from a tavern brawl long ago. Unexpectedly, he keeps one eye perpetually glittering with a tiny crystal lens (a cheap, hand-polished spyglass lens) attached to a leather string around his neck; when he stares through it in dim light his expression softens into genuine curiosity rather than calculation.
“Smooth, fast-talking, habitually punctuated by a well-timed chuckle or whispered aside. He peppers his speech with halfling idioms and theatrical metaphors ('By my granny's rolling pin', 'as crooked as a river bend'), and he lowers his voice to a conspiratorial register when making a pitch.”

Distinguishing Features
Gold caps on two front teeth
Curved scar through left eyebrow
Tiny handheld crystal lens on a leather cord
Always carries a deck of marked cards bound with a ribbon
Voice
“Warm alto with a quick, musical cadence; laughs easily and uses silences deliberately to make people fill them.”
Clothing
A mud-dimpled green waistcoat embroidered with a family crest in gilt thread (worn, occasionally cleaned), a silk scarf in an inconsistent pattern of vermillion and peacock blue, well-polished but patched boots, and an ankle-length coat with many hidden pockets lined in oiled cloth. He wears mismatched cufflinks—one a small hoop of brass, the other a coin with a hole punched through it.
Body Language
Open chest and forward shoulders when flattering; hands constantly moving — flourishes, hesitations, pockets fiddling. When threatened, he shrinks into a crouch that reads as both submissive and ready to dart away.
