Ha'Vok looks like a walking avalanche of muscle and metal. Under the scars the skin has a faint iridescent sheen, like oil on water. He wears a patched Cerzoran shock trooper surcoat over a harness of straps and ceramic plates that do not hide his bare chest when the wind catches it. Tattoos in Skjodaran knotwork wind down his forearms, interrupted by the hard-edged implants. He moves with the coiled precision of a trained soldier, but when angered his body seems to take on a second rhythm, a quick staccato breath and a slight mechanical hum under his ribs. Unexpectedly, Ha'Vok keeps a small woven charm tied to his throat with a child's ribbon. It looks fragile and out of place on a shock trooper, and he touches it when no one is watching.
