Vaelin possesses a hauntingly lean frame draped in a heavy coat of iridescent raven feathers that shimmer with oily blues and purples. His skin is the color of bleached parchment, stretched tight over high cheekbones. Most striking is his left eye: a complex clockwork mechanism of brass and glass that whirrs and clicks as it focuses. He moves with a liquid, unsettling grace, yet his hands tremble whenever he is not holding a musical instrument. He smells faintly of old books and ozone.
