Basalt of the Hollow-Bramble
Druid
Basalt of the Hollow-Bramble
Species
Warforged
Appearance
Basalt's body is a clean, matte iron-grey alloy veined with moss-green copper inlays that carry living lichen. Where most warforged have angular, industrious lines, his plating flows into rounded segments like layered bark. A braided loop of living root wraps his left forearm and occasionally blooms tiny white flowers; the root pulses faintly with a slow, breathing rhythm. His torso bears an inset circle of semi-opaque crystal that houses a tiny patch of soil and a single, stubborn seedling. When he moves, the joints whisper like wind through grass — quick, precise, but with a natural pause at times that suggests curiosity. Unexpectedly, Basalt’s faceplate has a small, hand-carved wooden sigil riveted to the cheek — a private gift that stains the metal with sap-smell and human memory.
“Basalt speaks plainly, with short, measured sentences. He uses precise nouns, often names things he observes, and occasionally inserts botanical metaphors at odd moments ("Your anger is like ironroot — hard to pull but dies without light.”
