Appearance
Elara is a wiry woman who moves with a bird-like, twitchy precision. Her skin is pale and heavily freckled, often smudged with soot or dried paste. Her copper hair is a chaotic nest pinned back with carved wooden sticks. The most striking element of her look is her hands: from her fingertips to her second knuckles, her skin is permanently stained a deep, bruised purple from years of handling elderberry dyes and caustic reagents. She possesses heterochromia, one eye is a sharp forest green while the other is a clouded amber. Despite her clinical surroundings, she smells strongly of sharp eucalyptus and damp earth.
