Hexan wears calf-length wolf-fur pelts over a scuffed leather harness and a battered iron half-shield bearing the watchhouse mark. His skin is sun-leathered with dozens of faded scars that map old fights. A long braid of ash-brown hair is threaded with tin rings and the braided remains of a child's ribbon. He moves with a surprising lightness for his size, feet quiet and careful though his shoulders are always squared. Contradiction: his face is often warm with a slow, distracted smile yet his eyes are intense and scanning, as if listening to two different conversations at once.
