Weapons3

A hand-crafted longbow of yew and ash, properly tillered and backed with rawhide. Balanced for hunting and war; fits an adult human or similarly sized character.

A shorter bow of laminated wood; easier to use from horseback or dense woods.

Blunted wooden arrows for safe practice. They are balanced like live arrows but have rounded tips.

Miscellaneous8

Standard iron-headed arrows, properly fletched and balanced. The staple ammunition for bows.

A leather quiver with a shoulder strap. Stitched and riveted for durability.

Bowyer's tools for shaping and tillering bow staves. Useful for a character who wants to craft or repair bows.

Fletcher's tools for fletching arrows, trimming feathers, and finishing shafts.

Bodkin arrowheads, preferred by soldiers when penetrating mail was likely.

Broadhead arrowheads made for hunting large game. Less usable against armor but devastating on flesh.

A small repair kit sized to fit in a quiver or pack. Keeps strings and fletchings in working order on the road.

Silenced Arrows, prepared by hand. The fletching and wax reduce the telltale whistling sound of arrows in flight.

Primarily role-play and situational; may allow the shooter to attempt to remain hidden after firing at the DM's discretion. Not magical. No guaranteed mechanical bonus without DM approval.
Armor1

A tanned leather armguard that protects the bow arm. Standard issue for archers and hunters.

Shop Atmosphere

The shop sits below the eaves of a timbered rowhouse. Anselm leaves his tools where a customer can see them; he expects trades in kind as readily as coin and will accept fresh poultry or a bolt of cloth at modestly reduced prices. He hums traditional fletsher tunes while he works and refuses to mass-produce arrows. He will sharpen arrowheads while you wait for a small fee and will barter training in basic shooting if you buy a full set of arrows.
