Shop Atmosphere
“Maris keeps a battered brass bell on the counter—if it rings by itself, she takes your payment and asks you to wait while she consults a 'mildly bored' familiar (a gray squirrel named Nimbus) who approves buyers. She gives a 10% discount to adventurers who bring in a potion recipe, a new spell, or a completed magical trinket to trade; however, she refuses to sell items that obviously feed necromantic rituals unless the buyer can present a letter of recommendation from a recognized guild or offers double the listed price.”
