A well-maintained kit with fleshing knives, rigs, scrapers, vats and salting supplies. Standard issue for hide-working in Gracklstugh.

Allows proficiency checks for tanning/repair with advantage when used by a proficient crafter in an undersurface environment

A heavy, dark cloak that resists moisture and grime; woven with thin strips of treated hide for durability.

Sheds water and mud; advantage on checks to avoid being tracked through muddy cave floors

A thick balm made from tanning fats and mineral resins. Speeds small wound closure and prevents infection.

Heal 1 HPWhen applied to a creature, grants advantage on one Constitution saving throw against disease or infection within 24 hours.

A reinforced harness with padded hide and iron buckles; designed to secure a rider without harming the mount.

Provides restraint points and tie-downs; can be customized to act as a basic shield mount for a beast

Collapsible folding vats for small-batch tanning and hide soaking; useful for field repairs.

Can be used as an improvised container; holds up to 10 gallons of liquid

A potent dye derived from mineral dust and cave fungus pigments. Produces an inky black that resists fading.

Used to recolor hides; when mixed with special resins can grant temporary camouflage (1 hour advantage on stealth checks in darkness, DM adjudicates)

A utility belt with pouches of preserved grease, thread, spare buckles and a small whetstone — all treated to resist rot.

Contains basic repair materials that grant advantage on a single leather/armor repair check once per day
Armor6

Sturdier than common surface leather thanks to iron-tanning techniques and charcoal-curing. Slight scent of brimstone.

AC +12Slight resistance to moisture degradation (no disadvantage in damp or slimed surfaces)

A supple black studded leather jerkin infused with underdark tannins and a sliver of gloom-essence. Considered an uncommon magic item.

AC +13Grants +1 to AC (counts as studded leather). While in dim light or darkness, the wearer gains advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks once per short rest.

Scales cut from shed giant cave-scorpions and backed with cured leather strips. Tough and slightly flexible.

AC +14Grants +1 to saving throws against poison (minor infusion from scorpion chitin).

Stout boots with layered leather and iron-reinforced toes. Tannery enchantment keeps them dry and odor-suppressed.

Grants advantage on saving throws to resist slips on slimy or loose cave surfaces once per short rest.

Bracers made from cured spines of cave beasts, polished and sewn onto leather backing. Good for brawlers and guards.

AC +11Adds +1 to unarmed strike damage when worn (reflecting jagged edges) — treat as flavor for roleplay; small, one-time sharpness

A rare, bespoke garment woven from treated monster hides and shadow-stitched with a sliver of duergar rune-work. Classified as a rare magic item.

AC +12Functions as a cloak of elvenkind (advantage on Stealth checks, creatures have disadvantage to perceive wearer while motionless) but only in caves/underdark terrain. In illuminated surface daylight its magic is suppressed.
Potions1

A viscous, amber potion brewed with fungus extracts and sterilized under pressure. Heals deep wounds.

Heal 4 HPRestores HP when consumed (Potion of Greater Healing)

Shop Atmosphere

Ironhide Tannery smells of tannin, metal and hot stone. The shop sits below a hemmed slag-arch, lit by a few dim glowfungi jars. Hammers and needles ring in the background as apprentices push hides into smoking vats. Ghalryk rarely smiles; when he does, it's to show a missing tooth replaced by an iron peg. He keeps an annoyingly punctual shop ledger and expects barter in rare underdark components (luminescent mycelia, black iron ore) as readily as coin. Outsiders who mishandle hides or complain about the 'smell' are invited to help with the next curing batch — and often accept the offer. The duergar pride in 'practical beauty': every purchase includes a tiny repair stitch and a solemn nod.
