Shop Atmosphere
“Nejnteno is laconic and smells faintly of smoked reeds. He pays better for fresh hides and service (hunting, patrols) than for coin—offer trade and he listens. He will test nonmagical gear by dipping it in the swamp canal outside his stall; items that resist rot are prized. He speaks in short hisses and clicks; if pleased he'll hum an old hunter's chant while he packs your purchase. He rarely sells many potions—keeps only a couple and acquires more through contact with Tepetlani or travelling traders. Haggling is expected; he treats lying harshly and will mark you (verbally) if he suspects deception.”
