Ragged but usable sheets of parchment for notes, marginalia, or quick maps.

A fine goose quill and a bottle of black ink. Comes with an extra nib.

A sturdy journal for notes, sketches, and secret codes. Lockable clasp.

Minor ward: once per day adds +1 to a Knowledge (Arcana/History/Religion) check made while consulting notes in it

A fold-out map of the city, showing major districts, temples, and secret canals—hand-annotated.

Grants advantage on Survival or Investigation checks to navigate the city one time per day

A rugged compendium of local beasts, dragon kinds, and common extraplanar sightings.

Grants +1 to initiative rolls versus creatures described within, once per encounter (requires 1 minute read to prepare)

A single-use scroll containing a 2nd-level divination spell. Useful for information-gathering.

Casts a 2nd-level divination (suitable spell such as Detect Thoughts or Augury depending on stock). Spell is consumed on use.

A quality book for a wizard to record spells. Acid-treated pages to hold arcane ink.

Pages resist normal wear; once per long rest, allows a caster to copy a spell for 25% less time (GM adjudication).

A scholarly work covering dragon anatomy, wyrmsign behavior, and armor tactics used by Dragon Highlords and Knights.

Once studied for 1 hour, grants +2 to Insight or Survival checks involving dragons for 24 hours.

A facsimile of the Solamnic code and rituals. Valued by knights and scholars alike.

Clerics/Paladins who study it for 1 hour gain a bonus to saving throws against fear for 24 hours.

A ritual scroll that allows the user to know or commune with historical echoes; not for casual reading.

Contains a 1st-level ritual (such as Commune with History variant) usable by a caster; consumed on use.

Merris will authenticate a document, book, or relic for a fee and provide provenance notes.

Provides an expert opinion granting +3 to item-based Investigation checks to determine value or authenticity.

Rare ink used to bind magical contracts, sigils, and spell glyphs.

Words written with this ink resist magical erasure and last for decades; when used in ritual components it lowers DC by 1.

Dark-inked ledger with notes from an exile; attracts small misfortune when read carelessly.

If read aloud, the reader must succeed on a Wisdom save or suffer disadvantage on the next skill check (removable by dispel magic or careful study after 1 hour).

Expensive, heavily annotated volume covering the rise of the Dragonarmies and known commanders—valuable to tacticians and historians.

Studying for 2 hours grants a temporary tactical bonus: once in the next 24 hours, the reader can grant allies within 30 feet +2 to attack rolls versus a chosen enemy for one attack (represents battlefield insight).

Small pamphlet describing common rites for major Krynn deities—useful for diplomacy with clergy or performing simple rites.

Clerics/Paladins who study it for 10 minutes gain +1 on Religion checks related to rites for 1 hour.

A thick folio with fragments of ancient dialects and cipher keys—useful for deciphering runes or archival work.

Grants advantage on a single Decipher Script or Read Magic attempt or a bonus to a single Linguistics/History check when used (consumed notes may be expended).

Shop Atmosphere

The shop smells of old ink, lemon oil, and candlewax. Shelves slope as if leaning in to eavesdrop; Merris the Kender distracts patrons with small anecdotes and an odd collection of dragon tooth paperweights (which she insists are 'safe to fondle'). She keeps a brass bell with a carved silvanesti leaf that she rings when the city watch writes to inquire about contraband; she refuses to sell original Solamnic manuscripts but will happily trade obscure, annotated copies for favors or rare information. Expect flirtations with trivia, sudden offers to 'borrow' your quill for a minute, and a soft, humming tune when the first morning light hits the bookshelf dedicated to dragonlore.
