Brom Ironhand
Shop Atmosphere
“Iron shavings sparkle in the sunlight that slips through the smithy shutters. The shop smells of oil, hot iron, and pine smoke. Weapons hang from the rafters in neat rows: training blades, hunting bows, and patrol-ready arms. The counter is a slab of well-worn oak scored by years of hammer blows. On the wall behind the forge an old, dented shield displays a carved family crest. The bell above the door sounds like a small anvil strike and brings a booming, good-natured voice from the forge. Brom keeps a battered logbook full of customer tabulated repairs and a small tin where customers toss copper for apprentices' tea. He offers apprentices short lessons for a silver or two and is known to barter repairs for seasonal produce from local farmers. He favors straightforward deals, insults bad metalwork without mercy, and will take a bit of coin off if you bring him rust-free, dry weapons.”
