Shop Atmosphere
“The Quiet Lantern sits on a shaded lane, its windows frosted with soft sigils. Inside, pale lanterns cast honeyed light over a pool of slow-running water; wind chimes made of shells murmur to themselves. Shelves hold neatly folded scarves, jars of dried herbs, and a low array of comfortable cushions for Haggling Guests. Sorah Willowglen, the firbolg proprietor, moves with an easy calm—her voice is low, her hands almost always occupied tending a tiny bonsai or blowing a lavender smoke ring to demonstrate an item. She favors barter with stories or favors, offers complimentary tea, and writes a small blessing on receipts. When tensions rise (a heated bargain or a loud argument), Sorah will sometimes play a short, wordless flute tune; the shop's occupants find their tempers cooling within moments. Regulars call the place 'a pocket of quiet' and Sorah is known to accept community service or a heartfelt tale in partial payment for particularly expensive items.”
