The smith stamps a nearly invisible sigil into many items at the last hammer blow. The mark is tiny—visible only in hot lamp-light, oil smoke, or when the metal is warmed by blood or heat. Locals joke that the smith 'lends his customers a little luck', but the truth is darker: those tiny stamps are cult sigils, hammered into the iron to seed subtle compulsions over time. The effect is slow and subtle: occasional unsettling dreams, a tendency to keep returning to the mines, and a faint compulsion to carve the symbol into stone. The shopkeeper hides the sigils beneath soot and trade paint and keeps louder, more obviously magical pieces behind the counter. The shop also offers honest maintenance, fast custom orders for miners, and a ledger of favored regulars stamped with the same secret mark.
