Shop Atmosphere

Stone and soot smell hangs in the doorway. The shop occupies a long, low building with a high brick forge at the rear; the front counter is a slab of hammered iron scarred with old sparks. Weapons on display are arranged by purpose: hunting, soldiering, dueling, and utility. Sparks catch on polished edges when the bell over the door rings. The owner will accept trades in raw ore or worked metal and offers basic weapon repairs while you wait. Regulars get a small loyalty discount and a free whetstone with purchases over 20 gp. The shop plays no music; instead the steady rhythm of hammer on anvil keeps time. The owner occasionally hums an old smith's chant under his breath while working.
