Shop Atmosphere
“Thistledock Herbarium sits on a crooked jetty where Greybranch's slow river laps at weathered boards. The shop smells of pine smoke, dried mint, and river peat. Shelves made from local oak hold rows of labeled jars and bundles tied with twine. Marelda keeps a pot of reed-tea simmering behind the counter and will only sell potent remedies to those she trusts; she knows most of Greybranch by sight and asks subtle questions before selling anything rare. She patches wounds for free to the town's laborers but charges market value to passing adventurers. The shop has a small cool cellar for delicate brews and a low hammock of woven moss used to dry rare blooms. Marelda's speech is soft, but she will not tolerate thieves: anyone caught will find their goods soaked in bitter riverwort and the whole town will learn of the offense.”
