Shop Inventory
(22)A well-used but serviceable dagger. The handle has been re-wrapped several times. Cheap, familiar, reliable.
A starter shortsword with nicks along the blade. Not finely made but sharp enough.
A patchy leather cuirass that smells faintly of oil and smoke. Cheap but offers basic protection.
Common Potion of Healing. Jasper keeps a few behind the counter for desperate customers.
A coil of rough hempen rope. Frays easily if abused but fine for basic climbing and hauling.
One day's travel rations. Stale, often salted to mask age, but edible in a pinch.
Tinderbox. Jasper will happily sell you flint for a mark-up and act offended if you bargain.
A coarse bedroll. Many a vagabond has slept on one like this in back alleys.
A battered waterskin; patched in three places. Jasper will charge for filling it from his barrel.
Thieves' tools. Genuine sets fetch a decent price; Jasper pretends not to notice the buyer's intent.
Merchant's scale. Jasper uses it to underweigh honest customers and overweigh coin when buying.
Standard torch. Sputters when wet, but good for short stretches of illumination.
Vial (single). Useful for carrying potion samples or suspicious liquids Jasper wants to sell in small doses.
Small pouch of raw gold dust. Not refined; Jasper will pay less than market value and charge more to sell it back.
Uncut Lapis Lazuli. Jasper found it 'at the docks' and claims it came off a merchant ship.
Amethyst, mid-quality. Jasper will haggle harder if you admire its color.
Sapphire (rough). Jasper says it came from a 'reputable' courier and will take 20% commission on any resale.
Flawless diamond. Too good for most honest folk to be carrying in alleyways; Jasper insists he's just a middleman.
Hollowed Signet Ring. Likely taken from a less-than-honorable client. Jasper will 'reduce' its value to avoid paperwork.
Electrum ingot (counterfeit). Jasper sells it as 'electrum alloy' to customers who don't look too close.
Assorted Cut Gems, mixed lot. A gambler's dream and a jeweler's headache; Jasper encourages hasty purchases.
Gutterbone Charm. Jasper sells these as 'luck tokens' to desperate customers for a few coins.

Shop Atmosphere
“The shop smells of old coin, oil, and tobacco. Jasper likes to weigh coins using a rigged balance and will sulk if you try to watch. He keeps a 'special ledger' behind the counter where he scribbles names of repeat customers and those he owes favors to. He offers 'good prices' for valuables if you promise not to report anything missing to the watch. Haggling is expected; Jasper rewards bold bargaining and punishes hesitation with sudden 'urgent expenses' that lower buy prices.”
