Shop Atmosphere

Marrow & Moon General Store sits under a tilted moonstone sign and smells of camphor, old paper, and iron. The windows are half-shadowed, with jars of pickled fungus and clipped raven wings arranged between sacks of flour and coils of rope. Candles burn in odd colors along the shelves. The proprietor, Mirelle Voss, is a gaunt human warlock who favors ink-black robes and an odd assortment of brass rings. Mirelle speaks softly, humming under her breath while she measures out supplies, and she has a habit of closing her left eye when she appraises a customer's coin. She offers small favors to regulars, such as a whispered charm to keep nightmares at bay or advice about local hauntings, but she exacts payment in stories or small, unusual trinkets rather than always taking coin. When the moon is thin she tends to lock the back door and light a circle of salt; regulars say she keeps things in the back that should not be sold by daylight.
