Shop Atmosphere
“Marr's General smells of pine oil and toasted grain. Shelves are labeled in a half dozen neat hands; a cat named Pock follows purchases to the door. The front counter is scarred with blade marks and travel stickers from distant towns, and a chalkboard lists local prices and a rotating 'wanted' board for odd jobs. Tobin rings a brass bell in the morning, and insists on telling a short anecdote with every purchase of a potion. He offers reasonable haggling to adventurers who bring good stories or interesting coins.”
