(14)Well-balanced steel longsword, tempered for both edge and balance. A common, reliable blade favored by soldiers and mercenaries.
A brutal two-handed blade meant to cleave armor and bone. Heavy balance for crushing strikes.
A hardy warhammer with a reinforced head ideal for cracking plate and smashing shields.
A balanced handaxe for chopping, throwing, and close work. Often sold in matched pairs.
A stout light crossbow, made for reliability in cramped tunnels where bows are impractical.
Duskwrought Longsword, a Duergar-forged blade tempered in subterranean cold. The edge holds longer and bites truer.
A shirt of interlocking rings welded and riveted the Duergar way. Heavy but exceptionally durable.
Layered metal scales set into leather backing. Good protection with modest flexibility.
A stout iron shield with a leather-wrapped grip. Standard issue for front-line fighters.
Ironroot Shield, reinforced with banded subterranean iron and etched runes. It absorbs shocks that would topple lesser shields.
A stopgap healing draught, powdered roots and minor enchantment. Reliable in a pinch.
A smith's kit tuned for subterranean metals. Required for proper metalworking and repairs.
A heavy pair of tongs hung with a sigil of doubling. Craftsmen use them to shape oversized pieces and adventurers use them to buff a weapon at need.
Service: sharpening, patching, riveting and minor refits. Nonmagical repairs charged hourly, major restorations quoted.
Thargrim Ironvein
Shop Atmosphere
“The shop sits in a basalt hollow where the air smells of coal and iron. Hammer blows echo in a low rhythm that feels almost like a heartbeat. Thargrim Ironvein, the proprietor, is a compact Duergar artifice-smith with silver-streaked braids and an apron streaked in oily soot. He speaks in blunt, measured sentences and sizes you up with the same calm appraisal he gives a blade's temper. His wares are displayed on iron racks and in shallow pits of emberlight; the best pieces are kept behind a slab of carved stone that doubles as a ledger and ledger-lock. Bargains are struck in gruff jokes and measured nods. Thargrim offers a free tempering with any armor purchase, but insists on strict payment upfront for magical work. He dislikes loud oaths and loud coin alike, but will soften for those who bring ore from the Hollow or good trade in exotic subterranean metals.”
