Shop Atmosphere
“Master Edrin speaks almost constantly in footnotes — he murmurs historical dates, Latin declensions, and obscure trivia when nervous. He will not sell ritual or necromantic material to anyone he suspects of ill intent (Perception or Insight DC 15 check to convince him otherwise). The shop itself closes for 'silent hour' at noon when a curtain is drawn and all conversation is whispered; during this time Edrin will bargain only in riddles and barter (a trinket + gold).”
