“The warm, yeasty scent of baking drifts down the street from the Twilight Hour until the start of the Nightfall Hour. Holly Aster greets customers with a flour-dusted smile; her daughters Violet and Lavender sweep the front and hand out tiny scraps to neighborhood children after school. Holly keeps a small stash of adventuring supplies and a few potions behind the counter for regulars. The shop shares the building with Siv Harga the butcher; Siv supplies meat pies and sometimes offers trade-ins: a fresh ham for a dozen rolls. A painted wooden sign shows a golden loaf and a violet blossom. Holly gives first-time customers a small cinnamon crumb as a welcome; repeat customers may get a free roll if they can tell a good joke. The shop closes for a brief family supper at the start of the Nightfall Hour, and Holly often slips a baked good through the shared window to Siv as he closes the butcher stall.”
