Shop Atmosphere
“The shop is a chorus of ticks and faint whirs. Calithor speaks in measured, slow sentences and will often set a small clock on the counter to 'match' a customer's mood. He insists on winding any mechanical item purchased at the time of sale. A bronze jackrabbit named Second keeps company on a high shelf; when Calithor is away the rabbit occasionally turns the shop bell's winding key and scares customers with a soft chime.”
