“The forge sits beneath woven thatch and obsidian slabs; ceremonial smoke and the scent of hot resin fill the air. Ikauelis Tijpantis speaks in a low hiss and measures worth by deeds as much as coin — she prefers feathers, hides, or a share of a hunt as barter. She hums an old marsh chant when forging; her teeth are filed and polished obsidian. She will sometimes test a blade's balance by having the purchaser flex or bend it dangerously close to her tail — she never flinches. Ikauelis dislikes wasting metal and will offer a discount for returning broken pieces she can salvage. Beware: she is blunt and literal; haggling is expected but personal insults are rewarded with silence.”
