“Ironvein Smithy sits on the edge of the market square. The shop is half-forge, half-workbench: an anvil blackened with use, chains of tools hanging from beams, coils of bellows leather, and a chalkboard with orders and prices scrawled in cramped runes. The air carries the scent of coal, oil, and cedar. Branna Ironvein, a broad-shouldered dwarf with iron-streaked braids and a soot-smeared apron, runs the place. She is quick with a joke, quicker with advice on weapon balance, and insists on inspecting any metal the party brings before she will weld, temper, or enchant it. Branna is a practical artisan and part-time tinkerer who keeps a ledger of custom work, does minor repairs while you wait, and will barter services for unusual ore or a favor. Quirks: her pet coal sparrow nests in the forge, she marks particularly fine work with a tiny rune burned on the ricasso, and she refuses to sell anything without first asking the buyer what they plan to use it for.”
