Shop Atmosphere
“The Frostwrought Trading Cask creaks and chuffs as steam vents through brass piping in the ceiling. Frost crystals cling to the wooden beams but never quite melt. The merchant hums an old sea-shanty while weighing goods on a brass scale. He marks special items with a smudge of blue wax so crewmen know they came from his personal stores. Bargaining is part of the ritual: offer a trade of a rare trinket, a tale of a safe route, or a promise of future business and Captain Mirel will lower the price. The ship's cat, a thick-tailed snow-mouser named Brin, sleeps in a barrel by the counter and will attempt to sit in any pack placed on the floor.”
