Shop Atmosphere
“The shop sits in a narrow, sunlit lane under a leaning elm. Shelves are arranged like the rings of a tree and jars glint with labels in curly script. The counter is a polished hollow of rootwood, and dried herbs hang in bunches from the rafters releasing a warm, camphorous smell. In one corner a small terrarium hums with tiny, bioluminescent moss that the owner tends each dawn. The shopkeeper greets customers with the habit of tapping a tin bell and offering a tiny steaming cup of nettle tea. The owner will barter favors for rare specimens and will sometimes accept a small piece of treasure as payment for information about plants and where to find them.”
