Shop Atmosphere
“Thistle & Thread General sits on a narrow lane off the market square. Shelves of mismatched crates lean over the front door and smell faintly of cedar and dried herbs. A chalkboard above the counter lists oddities and a daily special: "2 rations + 1 torch, 6 sp." Behind the counter Merin Thistlewick runs the shop with quick hands and a quicker smile. Merin is a gregarious human bard of moderate adventuring experience (level 6) who knows basic rumors, barter tricks, and how to spot a counterfeit coin. He keeps a battered lute behind the counter and hums as he measures rope or fills vials. He prefers stories over coin and will occasionally trade small favors, minor information, or a local contact for an item instead of full payment. Beware his cat, Patch, who will abscond with unattended coin pouches.”
