Miscellaneous1

A supple whip braided with veins of faintly glowing quartz. The lash hums softly when near subterranean beasts.

Atk On a hit, the wielder can choose to deal the whip's extra +1 force-like damage and force the target to make a Strength save or be pulled 5 feet toward the wielder (reliable for grapplers). While in use during animal handling checks, grants +2 to Animal Handling with subterranean creatures.
Miscellaneous1

A heavy iron collar inset with a plate of engraved basalt. When buckled onto a willing creature, it steadies and clarifies commands.

While worn, the creature gains advantage on saving throws against being frightened and grants +2 to all checks made with the collar-wearer's handler if the handler uses an Action to direct. Once per day, the wielder can cast calm emotions () centered on the creature to quell panic for up to 1 minute.
Miscellaneous2

A heavy net with stone-scalloped weights that hold fast to flesh and chitin. Designed specifically for subduing deep caverns' fauna.

Functions as a net. On a successful restrain, edges lacerate, causing slashing damage at the end of the target's turn until they succeed on a Strength check to free themselves.

A treated net that leaves stinging, mineral residue on those it holds.

When a creature is restrained by this net, it takes acid damage at the start of its turn as residue eats at flesh or chitin. Strength check to escape. Vulnerable to water which neutralizes residue.
Miscellaneous1

Constructed from the armored carapace of a deep roach and lined with felted moss; muffles movement and conforms to oddly shaped mounts.

AC +1Provides +1 to the mount's AC (applied by the DM), and the mount makes stealth checks with a bonus while moving on stone or through tight caverns. Once per long rest, can cast Pass Without Trace centered on the mount (no caster level required).
Miscellaneous1

A short horn carved from basalt; its tones resonate in caverns more than in open air.

When sounded, creatures within 60 ft that share the horn's training respond if commanded—granting the handler advantage on one Animal Handling check or causing a trained beast to drop a held item. Undead and constructs are unaffected. Recharge: unknown (use 3 uses per day).
Potions1

A still, ink-dark potion with a single iridescent scale floating inside. Sip to soothe a panicked brain.

When consumed, grants the equivalent of a calm emotions spell on the drinker (save ) affecting only the drinker for 1 minute. Rarely effective on magically enraged creatures.
Miscellaneous1

A burlap sack of crushed, fermented fungus and mineral salts—irresistible to burrowers and many subterranean herbivores.

Sprinkle to create a 10-foot radius attractive scent for 1 hour; creatures with an animal intelligence or below must succeed on a Wisdom save or be compelled to approach. Attracts vermin and large predators alike.
Miscellaneous1

A small mechanical clasp that secures saddles to scaled or irregular backs; excellent for arachnids and drakes.

Grants the rider advantage on checks to stay mounted on rough terrain or when the mount makes dex saves to avoid danger.
Miscellaneous1

A stout cage with basalt bars and iron bands. Designed to hold a large subterranean beast for temporary transport.

AC +2Works as a normal cage; beasts that rely on smell receive disadvantage on checks while inside due to smelled-in salts. Breaking requires Strength or a successful attack to the bars (AC 16, 20 HP).
Miscellaneous1

A compact, leather-bound manual filled with field notes, survival techniques, and preferred treats for common underdark beasts.

Grants a bonus to Animal Handling checks made regarding creatures listed within (about a dozen species). Useful as a roleplay/skill tool.
Miscellaneous1

A small carved root set with a sliver of phosphorescent fungus. Used to mark tamed beasts at night.

When tied to a creature, sheds dim light in a 5-foot radius for up to 24 hours. Can be snuffed and re-lit twice.
Miscellaneous1

A young roper, semi-trained to follow simple directives and return to a whistle. Kept muzzled and in a soundproofed crate.

AC +13Trained to obey basic commands from a bonded handler. Bonding requires a 1-hour session and a Animal Handling check; on success the roper will obey three simple commands per day without checks. If mistreated, becomes hostile. Requires special feeding (Cave-Grain Lure).

Shop Atmosphere

Shop sits carved into a basalt shelf in a low-ceiling tunnel—echoes are muffled, and the dim glow of fungus and quartz veins lights rows of cages and harnesses. Kruk speaks in understated gruffness, polishing items with a stone rasp while his pet blind drakeling curls at his feet. He dislikes sunlight, underprices goods if you barter in rare iron or cavern-grown fungus, and insists every purchaser sign a blood-ink ledger for live creatures. He occasionally hums a low duergar lullaby to calm skittish mounts.
