Shop Atmosphere
“The smithy sits under the lee of a low pier. Hammer blows punctuate the salt air; Karthax hums old draconic sea shanties while he works. A battered metal conch hangs above the door and acts as the shop's bell — knock and the conch is struck with a spoon. Karthax answers the door barefoot, hands perpetually stained black from coal and brine. He offers a free whetstone rub to any customer who brings a fishbone along (a little superstition) and will haggle more freely if you speak a few words of Draconic or share a dram of strong pier-spirits.”
