Mara Thistlebrook
Shop Atmosphere
“Mara is a pragmatic, warm woman who hums old harvest songs while weighing goods. She runs the shop with help from Pip, a mischievous male ratfolk who is quick to bargain or 'misplace' an item to make a sale — he adores shiny coins and will sometimes hide a small trinket in a customer's bag as a 'gift'. Mara accepts barter (fresh eggs, wool, or labor) at roughly half listed price and offers a free small jar of honey to regulars or kind travelers. On market days she displays a hand-painted sign of a thistle and a fox to mark special bargains.”
