A battered leather roll of hammers, tongs, files and punches. Brom keeps extra rivets and seals sewed into the lining.

Allows crafting and repair of metal items; grants proficiency with smith's tools when used.

Coarse, weighted net used for catching fish or entangling foes. Hand-stitched with lead weights.

As per net (PHB) — can restrain small–medium targets.

Hooks, line, sinkers and a few hand-forged lures packed in a waxed box.

Gives advantage on simple fishing checks when used properly by a competent caster.

Box of carefully filed and fletched bolts. Kept dry and oiled.

Three-pronged hook with a short length of chain. Commonly used to moor small boats or board vessels.

Can be used with rope for climbing or to secure lines; well-forged, holds up to ~500 lb.

Coarse stone in a cloth wrap. Brom keeps them soaked in oil to speed sharpening.

Restores a weapon's edge; a useful downtime tool.

A small salted-oil flask for preserving metal and lubricating mechanisms. Sold both plain and mixed with fish oil.

Useful for preventing rust and for use as an accelerant in improvised situations.

Lighter and more corrosion-resistant than iron. Preferred by veteran fishermen for saltwater use.

Bronze resists rust; slightly less penetrative against heavy armor but much longer lived near salt.

Hand-forged iron spikes for securing ropes to rock or wood. A staple for boarding and climbing in the harbor.

Weapons7

Long, barbed shaft used for catching large fish and small sea monsters. Reinforced with iron bands and fish-oil finish to slow rust.

Designed for aquatic use; takes +1 to saves vs. corrosion in briny environments.

Three-pronged spear favored by pier-guards and fishermen who go out with the tides.

Good for hooking nets and small boats; reinforced prongs resist bending.

Simple and versatile weapon. Brom sells many — good for both combat and fixing fishhooks into place.

A sea-hardened light crossbow. The stock is sealed against salt and the mechanism is slowed with fish oil to prevent jamming.

Mechanism resists jamming in wet conditions (advantage on checks to repair or unjam while aboard ship).

A handy blade for deckhands and adventurers alike. Balanced, with a riveted pommel to keep a grip in slick conditions.

Reliable steel blade. Brom tempers the edge for a balance of durability and sharpness — good for land or sea duty.

Single-handed axe that doubles as a tool for chopping rope and cutting free tangled line.

Armor4

Round, reinforced shield forged from hammered steel. Brine-resistant sealant keeps the rivets from seizing.

AC +2Provides +2 to AC when wielded.

Light armor reinforced with riveted studs and treated with a waterproofing compound. Keeps the wearer more comfortable in fog and spray.

AC +12Light armor: base AC 12 + Dex modifier. Brom's sea-treatment grants advantage on checks vs. chill/rain discomfort.

Medium armor made from small metal scales interwoven with leather. Maintained with frequent oiling to prevent stiffness.

AC +13Medium armor: base AC 13 + Dex modifier (max 2). Regular oiling reduces maintenance time.

Heavy, overlapping rings roped together into a brigandine. Good protection for harbor watch and militia.

AC +16Heavy armor: AC 16, requires Strength 13 and imposes disadvantage on Stealth checks.
Miscellaneous1

A rare, sea-tempered harpoon with a faint blue temper line; Brom says it was quenched in stormwater and finished with a pinch of 'true salt'.

Atk This weapon is +1 to attack and damage rolls. Once per long rest, on a hit the wielder can call a splash of briny spray that knocks a target back 5 feet if it fails a Strength save (nonlethal).

Shop Atmosphere

Saltanvil Forge sits on a stone quay where sea-spray fogs the windows; fishing nets hang from the rafters. Brom is a squat, soot-streaked dwarf with a braided beard and a habit of humming old harbor shanties while he works. He keeps a bowl of brine and a rag by the door and dips tools in the brine to 'teach them the sea' before sale. He greets customers with a clap on the shoulder, will haggle but prides himself on fair weight and honest tempering. If asked about magic gear, he squints and asks for a tale of storms in exchange for favors — he's partial to a good storm story and a hot mug of grog.
