Weapons4

A well-balanced steel longsword favored by naval boarding parties. Solid pommel for close-quarters work aboard a vessel.

Three-pronged trident forged for both combat and hauling nets. Balanced for throwing and stabbing.

A strong woven net used to entangle a foe or haul in a catch. Heavier, seaworthy weave.

A finely forged harpoon with an inlaid mother-of-pearl haft. Magically balanced for striking through waves.

Atk When attuned, grants swim speed +10 feet and a bonus to attack and damage. On a critical hit while underwater, the target is pushed 5 feet and knocked prone if Large or smaller.
Armor6

Riveted chain mail reinforced with brass trim to resist salt and corrosion. Standard naval quality.

AC +16

Studded leather jacket treated with oil to shed spray and resist mildew. Preferred by skiff crews.

AC +12

A sturdy round shield painted with a gull and anchor motif. Good for blocking blades and waves alike.

AC +2

A round shield rimmed with layered shells and carved coral. It hums faintly with ocean-borne magic.

AC +1Once per short rest, as a reaction when struck, the shield can cast a 15-foot cone of turbulent water that pushes creatures 10 feet away (Con save for half and no push). Usable three times per day.

A circlet fashioned from polished coral and mother-of-pearl, comfortable even when wet.

Allows breathing underwater while worn and grants advantage on checks to navigate or read currents. Provides marginal protection from cold water (resistance to cold damage while submerged).

Half-plate crafted of layered scale and hardened coral. Looks ceremonial but is battle-ready and treated to resist rot.

While attuned, grants resistance to cold damage and a bonus to AC. The armor has a slight coral texture that imposes disadvantage on Stealth checks when dry but grants advantage on checks to resist being knocked over by waves.
Miscellaneous8

A 50-foot coil of treated silk rope. Lighter and smoother than hemp, better for knots and rigging.

Cast-iron grappling hook for boarding or securing lines to rocky coves.

A treated waterskin that resists souring from long voyages.

Seafoam-green boots lined with kelp fibers and sealed seams. Worn by experienced helmspersons.

Grants advantage on Strength (Athletics) checks to swim and on Dexterity checks to keep footing on wet or pitching decks. Wearer ignores nonmagical difficult aquatic terrain.

A brass spyglass inlaid with a strip of abalone. The lens looks ordinary until the charm is used.

Once per day, clears a 60-foot sphere of fog and mist for 10 minutes centered on a point the user can see. Grants advantage on long-range perception for spotting ships or hazards for 1 hour after use.

A heavy, pewter decanter carved with tidal runes. It will never run dry of water if the stopper is opened with a command word.

Decanter of high-quality endless water. Can pour fresh water, stream, or geyser amounts as the item description dictates. Provides fine freshwater suitable for drinking until emptied and refilled by command.

A chain of polished sea-glass beads with a central pendant shaped like a conch.

While worn, grants advantage on saving throws against inhaled poisons and gases and allows the wearer to breathe comfortably in any environment that normally allows breathing. Also filters noxious fumes in small enclosed spaces.

A simple silver band engraved with rolling waves. Often given to pilots and skiff hands.

Wearer can stand and move on the surface of water as if it were solid. Does not grant extra speed but allows normal movement on water surfaces.

Shop Atmosphere

The Brineforge Armory sits half on stilts over the harbor and half built into a sun-bleached cliff. Salt-slick planks creak underfoot and the air smells of tar, hot iron, and brine. Ropes, harpoons, and sails hang from exposed beams; a shallow pool along the left wall houses a few curious, trained crabs that fetch dropped rivets. Shelves of oiled leather and brass glint with sea-themed trinkets. The owner, Maris Tolev, is a weathered human fighter of level 12 with one sleeve of tattoos depicting waves and a faded naval sigil. Maris lost a finger and wears a silver ring in its place; he speaks in short sea-worn sentences, haggles like a harbor-borough native, and polishes an old boarding axe whenever customers hesitate. He insists on inspecting unusual purchases and will require attunement to be done under his roof for an extra fee. He offers modest repair work, temporary storage of weapons at sea-roughened prices, and will sometimes barter favors for parts of a ship's log or rare nautical curios.
