Miscellaneous3

A small starter kit for taking notes or copying passages—good ink, a feather quill, and a handful of decent parchment sheets bundled in a cloth roll.

A small wooden whistle carved to resemble a sparrow; it produces a bright, cheerful trilling. Jory carved the grain so it looks like feathers under light.

When blown, it can attract small birds and distract them for up to 1 minute (roleplay/skill use—Perception/Handle Animal responses may be required).

A slightly larger whistle carved from dark cherrywood with a tiny loop for a cord. Jory fashioned it during late shifts; it's meant for signaling companions at night without frightening wildlife.

Once per day, when blown in darkness or dim light, grants a +1 circumstance bonus to Stealth checks for the blower and up to two companions within 10 feet for 1 round (flavor/limited mechanical benefit).
Miscellaneous2

A pocket-sized pamphlet blending practical social techniques for urban survival with a few discreet household tricks. Written in plain language and annotated in the margins.

When read for 10 minutes, grants a +1 circumstance bonus to Bluff or Diplomacy checks in a single social encounter (GM adjudicates). Not magical.

A hand-drawn foldout showing basic lock components, common simple traps, and rudimentary lockpicking techniques. Jory wrote this as a primer for apprentices.

Provides a +1 circumstance bonus to Disable Device attempts for 24 hours after studying the foldout for 1 hour (GM adjudicates). Nonmagical instructional aid.

Shop Atmosphere

Jory hums bird calls softly while shelving and offers a free carving demonstration if someone buys more than one item. He refuses to sell any tool he thinks would enable murder (will politely refuse on a case-by-case basis) and sometimes slips small marginalia—crooked sketches or encoded one-liners—into books as a 'secondhand' personalization.
