A hand-sized buckler layered with iridescent fish scales set into a leather base. Light, surprisingly tough.
A small glass vial containing a clear, warm liquid scented faintly of river-honey. Restorative when drunk.

Shop Atmosphere
“The Gilded Net sits on a narrow quay where the city meets the slow bend of the great river. Bronze lamps shaped like upside-down gourds hang from the awning and cast warm light over trays piled with silver fish and smoked eels. Scales and small sheets of beaten gold sparkle on display — Aya-Merit teaches customers that gilding preserves fish and status in equal measure. Aya herself is slight and quick-tongued, braided hair threaded with tiny shells, and a voice that drifts like a barcarolle. She keeps a weathered wooden basin by the counter where she rinses coins and offerings into a carved stone cup — a private ritual for safe voyages. Regulars know to haggle with a story and a song; Aya will trade better prices for gossip, news of a distant port, or a favor owed. The shop smells of citrus rinds, fish oil, and sweet smoke; a curtain of reed mats hides a small storeroom filled with nets, jars of preserved herbs, and one locked chest of curios. Aya polishes a little gilt carp every dusk and insists it brings her luck — and her patrons the favor of calm waters and a quick catch.”
