Fine, cream-colored sheets with faint knotwork watermark—perfect for letters or copying fragments from fragile tomes.

A glass vial of jet ink and a swan-feather quill. The ink briefly shimmers with runic sheens under moonlight.

When used to copy a spell into a spellbook, roll a d6: on a 1 the copying introduces a single harmless illusion glyph (purely cosmetic).

A modestly bound volume filled with local stories, folk cures, and placenames; very useful for investigations and roleplaying with locals.

Grants advantage on History or Insight checks about the immediate region when consulted for at least 10 minutes.

Leather-bound book illustrated with shimmering inks depicting fae creatures and their weaknesses.

Once per day, after 10 minutes of study, grants advantage on a single Wisdom (Survival) or Intelligence (Nature) check related to fae or woodland creatures.

A hand-drawn map that reveals secret trails and seasonal shortcuts—but only when the holder hums a simple tune.

Once per day, when a short melody is hummed while holding the map, it highlights one hidden route to the next major waypoint (DM determines specifics).

A thin brass bookmark engraved with a spiral knot. Keeps its place even in gusty winds or underwater for brief periods.

Never loses its place; if placed in a book while asleep it will emit a silent dream-hum that helps recall the last passage read.

A mid-sized spellbook whose cover shimmers with shifting knotwork—inside are blank pages that accept spells more willingly than ordinary paper.

When a wizard copies a spell into this book, reduce the time required by half and reduce cost of material components (if any) by 25%. Once per long rest the book can project a minor illusion of its cover elsewhere (harmless).

A slim book full of riddles and short enchantments. Reading it aloud can distract or confound simple minds.

Once per day, reading a riddle aloud forces a creature that fails a Wisdom save to be charmed (as per the charm condition) for 1 round, distracted by contemplating the riddle. Many riddles are useful for roleplay and negotiation.

A heavy, iron-bound compendium detailing obscure curses, protections, and their remedies. Not strictly legal in every lord's domain.

Studying for an hour grants advantage on a single Medicine or Arcana check to identify or attempt to remove a curse/disease. Also contains one ritual (DM-specified) that can be performed once before the text's knowledge fades.

A deck of 24 illustrated cards used for sleight-of-hand, fortune-telling, and minor glamour tricks.

Provides proficiency bonus to Charisma (Sleight of Hand) checks for performances when used creatively. Once per day a selected card can cast prestidigitation as a cantrip for 1 minute.

A brass lantern etched with Celtic knots that casts a pale green light. The glow seems to avoid revealing what is meant to be hidden.

Provides bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet. While lit, the lantern grants advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks to find fey or fae-made pathways, but imposes disadvantage on checks to detect illusions (it respects the fae's love of concealment).

A scroll used to bind or seal a simple pact or promise; used by storytellers to make vows more tangible.

When a willing person signs the scroll and speaks the vow, the parchment records the promise. If the signer later breaks the vow, they suffer disadvantage on one social check chosen by the DM for 24 hours (symbolic, not mind-controlling). Usable once.

A pocket-sized phrasebook that briefly translates elemental or fae dialects into Common for those who study it.

After 10 minutes of study, for the next hour the holder can understand simple speech in one chosen obscure dialect (DM chooses specifics: fey-speak, old Celtic, elemental tongue). It does not grant the ability to speak it, only to comprehend.
Potions2

A tightly rolled scrap of vellum imprinted with curling runes. Unfurls into purple-silver motes when its command word is spoken.

Casts Faerie Fire (as the spell) when read. Single-use scroll.

A vial of pale-green liquid that calms inner afflictions and mends small curses or disease.

Functions as the Lesser Restoration spell when consumed (cures one disease or condition such as paralysis, poison, or one level of exhaustion).

Shop Atmosphere

Nessa runs the stall like a living riddle—every purchase must be accompanied by a short exchange: either a riddle answered, a secret told (a sentence long), or a harmless trick performed. The shop itself is a small stall tucked beneath a willow, hung with wind-harp bells and tiny glow-motes that are illusions she sustains. Books sometimes rearrange themselves to form cryptic messages; bargains sealed with Nessa can be undone only with another riddle exchanged. She delights in charming illusions—buyers often find the price written in shimmering words that vanish after the coin is handed over. Regular patrons get a 'wren's favor' (a whispered hint) when stuck on a riddle or puzzle once per day.
