Shop Atmosphere

Caloren speaks in marginalia—constantly muttering shorthand notes and correcting grammar on any scrap of paper left on the counter. He refuses to sell fire-based scrolls without a signed 'no-arson' waiver and will sometimes offer an offhand story about each scroll's provenance (truthful or embroidered). He times transactions with a small sand-driven hourglass he calls "the Scribe's Measure" and offers tea that changes color depending on the customer's intent (or so he claims).
