Weapons6

A fine steel dagger with a faint blue sheen along the blade. Balanced for throwing and close work.

A sliver of frost clings to the blade; if used to strike bare skin it may leave a brief numbness (cosmetic).

Light, nimble blade edged with cryo-tempered steel. The edge holds longer in wet or frozen conditions.

Slightly reduced chance of becoming dull in cold climates (flavor).

A standard longsword with faintly ringed runes of cold along the fuller. Feels colder to the touch.

Aesthetic frost and cold-sheened blade; does not confer mechanical cold damage.

Balanced handaxe with a cold-blue tempered edge; suitable for melee and throwing.

None (flavor: edge resists corrosion).

A well-made longbow that keeps its tension in damp and freezing weather. Paired arrows sold separately.

Slightly less affected by frost (flavor).

A heavy warhammer forged to resist chip and stress from frozen ore. Solid, balanced, and dependable.

The head sheds frost when swung (cosmetic).
Miscellaneous2

A magically tempered shortsword that grants a bonus to attack and damage. The blade exhales a whisper of frost when swung.

Atk On a critical hit once per short rest, the target must succeed on a Con save or have its speed reduced by 10 ft until the end of its next turn (minor chill effect).

A spear hollowed and filled with a crystalized sliver of winter. Lends a cutting, glassy edge and a bitter chill.

Atk Once per short rest, as a bonus action the wielder can cause the spear's tip to flash icy shards: the next hit deals an additional cold damage.
Miscellaneous2

Standard wooden arrows; Hekla heat-treats the shafts to resist splintering in cold moisture.

Bolts with slightly blunted, chilled tips—meant to chip and slow rather than pierce deeply.

On a hit, DM may rule bolts can hamper small mechanisms or chill exposed flesh (flavor).
Armor2

Light armor fitted with extra gaskins and insulated studs; allows flexibility while keeping the wearer warmer in frigid environments.

AC +12Provides an extra +1 advantage in survival checks to resist cold exhaustion when worn (flavor — up to DM).

A sturdy shield with a cold-hardened rim that can absorb more wear from ice and metal.

AC +2No mechanical bonus beyond protection; the rim can be used to deliver a shove without chipping (flavor).
Miscellaneous1

A small glass vial of viscous, blue oil that freezes quickly on contact with air. Applied to a weapon, it briefly chills the blade.

If applied as a bonus action, the next successful melee attack within 1 minute deals an extra cold damage. The oil freezes after use.
Potions1

Standard red-bottled healing potions. Hekla keeps a modest stock for emergencies and travelers.

Heal 2 HPRestores hit points when consumed (standard potion of healing).
Miscellaneous2

Minor repairs: re-honing, removing rust, replacing a broken strap or tip. Turnaround usually same day.

Hekla offers emergency rush (same hour) for +10 gp if not serving other customers.

Minor cosmetic or nonmagical runework etched into handles/blades: snowflakes, glacier streaks, runes for balance.

No mechanical benefit; can be a prerequisite for Hekla's deeper enchantments.

Shop Atmosphere

Hekla hums old glacier songs while she works and keeps a small bowl of snow in the shop year-round (never melts). She insists on wrapping every weapon in thin oiled cloth and a sprig of dried winterberry—"for luck, and to keep the cold honest." She offers a free cup of spiced tea to anyone who mentions the name of the mountain pass where she learned cryo-smithing.
