Weapons5

A massive, rune-etched warhammer forged from meteor-iron; the head gleams with tiny star-like veins.

Atk On a critical strike, releases a radiant burst dealing radiant to the target and to creatures within 5 ft. (once per short rest). Once per day the wielder can cast Wall of Fire centered on a point they can see (as the spell, ). Requires attunement.

A greatsword whose edge is jagged like a lightning bolt; it crackles softly when swung.

Atk On hit deals an extra lightning damage. Three times per long rest the wielder may call down a lightning strike ( lightning in a 10-foot radius, Dexterity save for half). Requires attunement.

A long spear with a blade that remains warm to the touch; it leaves faint embers where it strikes.

Atk On hit deals + fire. Once per short rest the wielder can expend the spear's heat to cast Flame Blade (as a bonus action) for up to 10 minutes. Requires attunement.

A finely balanced greatsword, perfectly tempered and sharpened by a master smith.

No inherent magic, but grants +1 to attack rolls when the wielder has proficiency in heavy blades due to superior balance (DMG-flavor masterwork; mechanical bonus subject to DM).

A reliable, well-balanced longsword ideal for veterans and novices alike.

Standard martial weapon; superior edge holds longer than average.
Armor4

A suit of plate armor hammered and tempered with protective runes; dark iron with braided brass seams.

AC +3Grants resistance to bludgeoning damage from nonmagical attacks. Once per long rest as a reaction, the wearer can impose disadvantage on an incoming attack. Requires attunement.

Forged bands of folded steel and leather which lock to the forearms with a soft chime.

AC +2Provides a bonus to AC while worn (if not wearing heavy armor). Once per long rest can grant the wearer temporary hit points equal to .

Custom-fitted plate, perfectly matched to the wearer's frame and gait.

Nonmagical plate carved and joined to minimize encumbrance; grants normal Plate AC but subtracts -1 to Stealth checks if not configured with whisper-plates.

Stout chain with brass filling in the links to resist corrosion and blunt impacts.

Nonmagical; treated to resist rust. Slightly lighter than common chain but otherwise standard stats.
Miscellaneous7

A full set of smith's tools inlaid with sigils; grants uncanny subtle guidance to a craftsman.

Grants bonus to any Intelligence or Strength checks when used for metalworking (Smith's tools). Once per day can expedite the forging of a simple magic item, reducing raw crafting time by 25%.

A block of impossibly light but resistant alloy; anchored to a folding frame and roiling with controlled heat.

Provides a heat source and hammering resonance: any magical forging done on it benefits from a bonus to creation rolls. Once per month it can be used to temper or repair an item as if the caster had cast Greater Restoration (item only, not creature).

The basic authenticated kit for a working smith: hammer, tongs, files, chisels and measuring implements.

A heavy hammer balanced for repeated work and occasional battlefield use.

A small oiled stone that sharpens and preserves edges.

A weapon sharpened on it gains advantage on its next attack (DM discretion).

A box containing nails and rivets for common repairs.

Hrothgar etches functional runes into weapons or armor to impart temporary or permanent enchantments.

Can apply permanent +1 enchantment for the listed price if the item is suitable and the client supplies special reagents; higher enchantments require additional materials and a forging contract. Hrothgar offers temporary imbuements (last 24 hours) for 200 gp.

Shop Atmosphere

Stonehand Forge sits at the end of a soot-dark alley, its forge-flare visible through a lattice of iron and slag. The shop smells of coal, oil, and a hint of ozone; slag sculptures of dragons and anvil-prints decorate the walls. Hrothgar Stonehand is broad-shouldered and broad-tempered, hair braided with tiny hammer charms and a streak of white across his beard where molten iron once singed him. He speaks in measured gruff tones and insists on testing every weapon before sale by swinging it into a practiced target dummy or into his own anvil (never himself). He will barter services—apprenticeship, discounted maintenance, or a favor-for-an-item for trusted buyers. Hrothgar collects odd ingots: meteor iron, wyrm-forged scales, and old relics; he'll haggle for those even if he refuses to disclose how he'll use them. The bell above his door rings in three notes: strike, pause, strike — a rhythm he says keeps the forge's heart steady.
