Weapons4

A balanced cutlass hammered from iron tempered with seawater salts; favored by local boarding crews. Good for slashing in close-quarters.

Specially treated to resist rust; advantage on saving throws vs. waterborne corrosion and +1 to checks to pry stuck locks when used as a tool.

A short, heavy axe with a hooked back for pulling lines and ripping planks during boarding actions.

Hooked poll grants advantage on attempts to snag ropes or small unsecured items in combat (DM adjudicates).

A clumsy one-shot firearm popular with privateers. Loud and smoky; simple to reload with time.

Once per shot; misfire on a natural 1 (mechanical jam). Requires a free hand and 1 action to reload (or 1 minute to reload fully with tools).

A dagger whose tip has been silvered and etched with tidal motifs. Useful against certain supernatural foes and for ceremonial purposes.

Counts as silvered for overcoming resistances/immunities that require non-magical silvered weapons.
Armor3

Thick leather with brass bossing and tar impregnations to resist spray and mildew—favored by deckhands who need mobility.

AC +12Grants advantage on checks to move safely on wet decks (Dex saves to avoid slipping) once per short rest.

A lighter form of chain mail braided to be comfortable aboard ship; offers decent protection without clanking excessively.

AC +13Less noisy than normal chain for purposes of stealth checks when treated (requires 1 hour, included in price).

A round compressed wooden buckler with a bronze rim, sized for quick parries and to brace against boarding pushes.

AC +1Provides +1 to AC when wielded (equivalent to small shield). Can be used to hook small items or catch a blade once per short rest (contest vs attacker).
Miscellaneous6

A stout iron hook with three barbed prongs for securing to ship railings or ledges. Standard issue for boarding parties.

When used with the included 50 ft hemp line (sold separately or bundled for 6 gp), grants advantage on checks to secure a line if the user spends 1 action to set it.

Tarred rope resistant to rot; essential aboard ship.

A battered shovel with a weighted iron tip used for clearing docks and bilge — doubles as a clumsy bludgeon.

When used to clear decks, grants bonus to checks to clear debris or drag light objects.

A brass spyglass ground to good clarity—useful for scouting vessels and coastlines at a distance.

Allows viewing distant objects as if much closer (DM defines exact range).

Installation service or one-off fitting: Mordo will install a ram spike, reinforce a hull brace, or add handholds to a small boat.

Service: improves a small vessel's stability and adds +1 to DC for boarding checks against that vessel (DM adjudicates).

A day's worth of salted provisions and a small ration of rum—keeps a crew fed and spirits up on long passages.

Drinking the rum gives advantage on morale (Charisma-based) checks to resist fear for 1 hour; use sparingly.
Potions1

A sealed glass phial of red liquid that knits flesh and soothes pain. Brought in by a healer friend of the smith.

Heal 2 HPHeals hit points when consumed (standard Potion of Healing).
Miscellaneous1

A polished iron hook hung on a leather thong. Locals whisper that it's Mordo's old hook turned lucky by storms and bargains with the sea.

Atk This item grants a bonus to attack rolls made with it and to checks made to climb or secure lines. Once per long rest, when thrown as a grappling tool, it automatically secures if the target is within 10 feet.

Shop Atmosphere

The Barnacled Anvil is built into the lee side of a docked hulkshed; sea spray stains the door and barnacles rim the hinges. Mordo smokes a pipe filled with salted tobacco, punctuates sales with a grunt, and keeps a feral gull named Sprocket on his anvil. He prefers trading in stories and favors as much as coin—if you can tell a good sea tale, he might knock a few coins off the price or include improvised repairs for free. The shop constantly smells of tar, hot iron, and spilled rum; at night a faint lullaby of waves drowns the clang of hammering.
