Miscellaneous2

A fist-sized, opalescent pearl that stores memories and spells. Can hold up to 10 levels' worth of spells (written as memories) and release them once per day. The pearl hums faintly with cold bioluminescence when near old magic.

Can store up to 10 spell levels (example: one 5th-level + one 3rd-level + two 1st-level spells). Once per day, the pearl can cast any stored spell without components. Spells retain original casting DC and save stats.

A velveteen cloak patterned like manta wings. When worn, the cloak allows graceful movement in water and the ability to glide briefly in air.

AC +1While submerged, gain a swim speed equal to your walking speed and advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks in water. Once per long rest, as a reaction, you may spread the cloak to negate falling damage and glide up to 60 feet horizontally (counts as feather fall).
Miscellaneous1

A three-pronged trident wrought from hammered black coral and rimed with salt-silver. Functions as a +1 trident. Grants the wielder the Fish Command ability and advantage on checks to influence aquatic creatures.

Atk Once per short rest, as an action, cast dominate beast (aquatic-only) or fish command (as the spell) on one or more creatures within 60 ft that are amphibious/aquatic. When submerged, trident grants +2 to Charisma (Persuasion) checks with aquatic creatures.
Miscellaneous1

A clear vial with a single, trapped thundercloud. When opened underwater, it creates a localized turbulence and static that can stun and disorient foes.

When shattered (action), creates a 10-foot-radius turbulent sphere centered on the vial's location. Creatures in the area must succeed on a Strength save or be knocked prone and take the damage. Usable once.
Miscellaneous1

A blue-green potion harvested from deep gill-seaweed. Grants permanent aquatic respiration and the ability to breathe both water and air comfortably.

Upon consumption, you gain the ability to breathe underwater indefinitely. The elixir also grants resistance to cold while fully submerged.
Miscellaneous1

A ring carved from a shard of the city’s old bell, set with a cyclopean seaglass. It grants powerful control over water and temporary summons of aquatic elementals.

Once per long rest, cast control water as a 9th-level spell (no components) or summon a water elemental of CR 7 for up to 1 minute. Grants +2 AC while submerged and immunity to drowning.
Miscellaneous1

A water-dampened scroll sealed with brine. When used, it summons a powerful, localized whirlpool that pulls and damages enemies.

Cast maelstrom (as DMG homebrew equivalent to a high-level area control spell). Creatures in the area must make a Strength save or be pulled and restrained for up to 1 minute (repeat saves). Single-use.
Miscellaneous1

A woven net of kelp-fiber and barbed ironshard coral. When thrown, it can capture both creatures and stray magical currents.

Functions as a net but, on a hit, can hold a creature and siphon spell slots: once per day it can absorb a spell of up to 3rd-level cast at it (targeting the net) and store that spell to be released by the net's owner as an action within 24 hours.
Miscellaneous1

A heavy codex bound in scaled skin and sealed with coral clasps. Contains three unique spells tied to Lazlantus and blank pages that only surface-wet ink will accept.

Holds the spells: tidal prison (7th), abyssal recall (8th), and ocean's sovereign (9th). A wizard gaining this tome can copy these spells into their spellbook. The book grants +2 to spell attack rolls for water/ice spells when studying it for 1 hour.
Miscellaneous1

A pearlescent vial that mends flesh with a hint of salt. Heals more than a common potion.

Heal 8 HPHeals hit points (equivalent to a superior healing potion). If consumed while submerged, grants temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus (min 2) for 1 minute.
Miscellaneous2

A compass made of blown deepglass. Instead of north, it points toward the nearest massive underwater magical influence (portal, ley node, artifact) within 10 miles.

Once per day, can attune and lock onto a single magical signature for 24 hours; gives vague directional hints (distance bands).

Small carved stones of living coral used to ward rooms or ships against water-borne scrying and minor elementals.

When placed and activated, creates a 20-foot-radius ward for 24 hours that grants advantage to saves vs scrying and repels summoned water steeds/elementals (they must succeed on a Wisdom save to enter).
Miscellaneous1

A vial of black-blue ink that flows like living tide. Used for writing on scrolls and enchanted parchments.

Spell scrolls written with this ink gain +1 to their save DC when cast underwater. Works on up to three scrolls per vial.
Miscellaneous1

A packet of granulated salt that absorbs a single name from memory for 24 hours when used in rituals.

Used as a component in rituals or for divination; when burned, it can erase a single name from local memory for 24 hours (subject to DM ruling).

Shop Atmosphere

Aelura annotates purchases in the 'Abyssal Ledger'—a semi-sentient slateshell that only the university's owner may request to read. The shop is semi‑submerged in Lazlantus' silted plaza: transaction booths are coral alcoves with flowing water curtains. Bargaining often requires offering a research note, rare ink, or access to surface-world lore. Aelura will refuse to sell items that 'disturb the sleep of the city' (ancient warded artifacts connected to Lazlantus' anchoring spell) unless the buyer yields a binding research covenant with the university.
