Shop Atmosphere
“The Gossamer Hoard smells faintly of ozone and lavender. Shelves are draped in translucent veils that drift though there is no breeze. Master Corren appears as a stooped, silver-haired man wearing a faded waistcoat and spectacles; he speaks with a slow, amused cadence and often hums to himself. When bargaining, he tilts his head and his pupils narrow to vertical slits for a heartbeat — the only clue he's not entirely human. He insists on a polite bow from buyers before showing rare items and offers tea that, if accepted, causes one benign minor illusion (a small dancing light or whispered compliment) to accompany the cup. If the party treats the shop respectfully, Corren may offer lore about local dragons or grant a modest discount (5–10%) once per customer per season; he dislikes loud, brash conduct and will quietly lock the door and ask raucous patrons to leave. If pressed — or if a dragon-eye flickers — he can be persuaded to trade more unusual items in exchange for stories, gemstones, or favors rather than coin.”
