Shop Atmosphere

The smithy is a low-slung stone building with a lean-to roof, smoke-streaked beams, and a perpetual tang of coal and iron. Torren is the talkative one—broad-shouldered, missing a front tooth, and proud of his 'proper heat'—he hammers rhythms as if tuning a song. Haldir is quieter, meticulous, and wears a soot-streaked apron with pockets of odd bits (a child's coin, a broken gear). They bicker like brothers at market price and offer free shoeing to travelers with children's names on their boots. If a customer sings a local forging tune (DC 10 Performance), Haldir will offer 1 sp off small jobs; Torren inspects any incoming metal with a dramatic flourish and will barter food or favors for repairs.
