Shop Atmosphere

The House of Gilded Odds sits in a narrow alley lit by lanterns that change color with the mood of the room. At the far end a carousel of enchanted coin-servers spin plates of luck - when the house wins they dim; when a player hits a streak they flare emerald. The proprietor sells both honest wares and 'arrangements' for the reckless. House rule: any magical item bought here carries a ledger mark - the owner may be asked to let the house run a favor in exchange for unusually steep discounts. The shop's signature flourish is a nightly 'show of chance' - a dealer conjures illusions and small animate beasts from the gray bag to entertain players. Music is provided by the proprietor's familiar and a set of enchanted playing cards that shuffle themselves.
