Shop Atmosphere
“Thimble's small shop sits beneath the drooping limbs of an old ash, its doorway ringed with painted acorns. Shelves are carved from sapwood and labeled in looping, squirrelly handwriting; a bell fashioned from an empty nutshell hangs at the counter. Thimble Bramblefoot is a jittery, kind-eyed squirrelfolk with a permanent smear of honey on one cheek and a habit of tucking small customers (and stray coins) into his fur. He hums old watcher-songs while he works and insists on wrapping purchases in strips of bark or last season's festival cloth so they won't clink in the night. He offers a modest trade discount to travelers who bring small, curious trinkets from beyond the tree-line (a crawl of beetle-shell, a bright river pebble, a feather from a visiting flock). If pressed for gossip, he'll tell you which paths through Humblewood have foxes prowling and which mushrooms are safe to nibble — but he always asks for a favor in return: 'A pot o' tea when you come back, yes?'”
