Every third night a hush falls for 'The Calling'—patrons draw chalk on a coin and leave a silent request on the ledger. Maera pledges to answer one request per week by midnight. The tavern’s sign is missing a single brass nail on purpose; newcomers who replace it are offered a free drink and a piece of guarded gossip.

Lore

Locals claim the tavern sits atop a small, forgotten network of cellars once used by the 'Gray Chevrons'—a mercenary company that disbanded after a failed assault twenty years ago. Rumor says the company hid a pursed chest and split the map pieces among members; some believe one piece is sewn into the banner in the rafters. Bards add that the house ale is brewed with water drawn from a well that once flowed beneath the barracks, giving it a faint, lingering taste of iron and old coins.
