The Ember Lantern
The Ember Lantern was opened thirty years ago by Tomas Ember, a retired riverboat captain who converted an old tannery into a warm inn for travelers. After a winter fire nearly razed the building fifteen years ago the townsfolk rebuilt it in its current cozy, timbered form. Tomas passed the inn to Marta Silversong a decade ago after she helped fend off a band of roadcutters. Since then the Ember Lantern has been known for steady beds, strong ale, and a hearth that rarely lets a weary traveler freeze. Rumors say the inn sits on a ridge that once marked an old watch post, and scraps of the watchtower have been built into the foundation.
