The Ledger & Lantern
The Ledger & Lantern began as a wayside room thirty years ago when Edda Ledger set out a pot and a shelf of books for passing travelers. Her ledger — a thick bound book of debts and favors — became the inn's namesake. Mara Thorn took over eight years ago after helping fend off a pair of highwaymen; she kept the ledger tradition and the board of notices. Over the decades the inn grew a reputation as the place to post small jobs and swap honest gossip. The upstairs rooms were added when a winter storm trapped a dozen travelers and the inn had to shelter them for a week.
