Thalia always whistles the 'road clear' tune before serving new faces; a grey inn-cat named Thom collects shiny trinkets in a secret basket; the hearth smoke causes odd, short-lived sparks that look like tiny fireflies; coins are sometimes found tucked in the rafters—no one knows who leaves them.

Lore

Locals tell of the Hearthroot oak across the lane—an ancient tree whose roots twist under the lane and are said to keep the road safe. Some whisper the tree is bound to the inn by an old bargain: in exchange for shelter and song, the spirits under the tree protect travelers who sleep beneath the inn's roof. The oak's leaves are used sparingly by Thalia in special ciders; folk say the drink grants clearer dreams and steadier hands for a night.
